Empowering Rural Communities Through Health Screenings

Our recent health screening campaign in Mukono district was a resounding success, reaching over 500 community members and identifying critical health conditions early. The three-day camp was held at the Mukono Community Center.

Key Findings

The screenings revealed: 23% of adults had elevated blood pressure; 15 cases of suspected diabetes were identified; 8 men were referred for prostate cancer screening; over 100 children were screened for malnutrition.

Community Impact

Beyond the screenings, the camp served as a powerful health education platform. Our team conducted group sessions on disease prevention, healthy eating, and regular health check-ups.

“I had no idea my blood pressure was so high. The screening may have saved my life. Thank you, Nyana Initiative!” — Grace Namubi

What’s Next

We plan to conduct follow-up screenings every quarter while expanding to two new districts by year end.
